FAQs


Can I bring in my own alcohol?

   Due to the liquor license, we cannot allow carry-ins.

Can I bring in my own food?
  Yes! You are welcome to bring in your own food for private events.


What is the age recommendation?
    We recommend age from 14-101.


How long do classes typically last?
    Classes typically last about 3 hours.


How much does the class cost?

    Each class is $60.00 and you can choose any board to make.


What are the risks involved?

    With hammers, mallets, sand paper, drills, stain, and paint being used precautions need to be taken. If you have a condition that will be affected by any of the listed items. This may not be the workshop for you. 


How do I register?

     Review all of the boards available from the "Boards" page, make a note of which board you would like to make. Then click on the "Book a Workshop" link. This will open the calendar page. Select the date that you would like to attend and register there. You will select your board from a drop down during registration. You will also pay for the class registration during this time.


What happens if I have an emergency and can't make it to my scheduled class? Do you offer a refund?

     If you are unable to attend your scheduled class we will gladly reschedule at a later date convenient to you. We do not offer refunds.


Can I make my own customized design?

    We can offer slight customizations to already existing designs.


What should I wear for the workshop?

     You might get dirty!! So please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little sawdust or stain on.


What all is included in the cost of the workshop?

     Included in the cost of the class is a three hour workshop where you create your one of a kind board from start to finish.


What time should I arrive to the workshop?

     Please arrive to class at least 15 minutes early.


Do I need to decide ahead of time what project I want to do?
     Yes, you have 36 hours to register before the workshop you would like to attend.

Am I able to choose who I want to sit next to and is it guaranteed? 
     If you are coming with friends please note in the box labeled who you would like to sit by their name. These seating arrangements are not guaranteed however we will try our best to accommodate them.


What brands of stain and paint do you use?

     We use Minwax  waterbased stain and Lucite paint.​​​​


Where can I park?

Parking meters on College Ave. are $.75 per hour and are limited to two hours from 9am-6pm.  Meter parking is free after 6pm on weekdays and all day on Sundays and holidays. 


The Red (Radisson) parking garage is located behind The Crafty Wood Maker, and is now pay as you exit and accept cash, credit cards, permits and validated hotel cards.  Rates are just $1 for less than 2 hours, $2 for 2-3 hours, $3 for 3-4 hours and $5 for over 4 hours.
